Follow the beam
Turn light into a path forward
Light Temple keeps the two-character puzzle structure but makes illumination part of the route. A locked door is not simply locked: it may need a beam delivered from the right angle, at the right time, while the other hero is ready to pass through.
The result is a slower, more visual kind of challenge. Instead of rushing to the nearest switch, you trace where light can travel and build the path one reflected segment at a time.
Core mechanics: aim the light, then use the opening
Mirrors redirect beams toward receivers that power doors, platforms, or other mechanisms. The useful angle is not always beside the receiver, so scan the room for a chain of reflectors rather than moving the first mirror you see.
The usual elemental rules still apply: lava belongs to Fireboy, water belongs to Watergirl, and green hazards are unsafe for both. Light puzzles become harder when the hero needed on the far side cannot safely reach it without the other hero’s help.
- Follow a beam from its source to its target before touching a mirror.
- Check whether a door remains powered after a character leaves the switch.
- Keep one hero near a newly opened route when the setup is temporary.
New-player strategy: work backward from the receiver
Start at the light receiver that opens the route you need, then look backward for the mirror or beam source that can feed it. This makes crowded rooms easier to read than experimenting with every object in order.
When a beam is working, pause before both heroes cross. Confirm that the character left behind has a safe way to rejoin the route, especially when a switch must be held or a mirror can be moved only from one side.
Controls and co-op setup
Fireboy uses the arrow keys and Watergirl uses W, A, S, D. Two players can assign one hero each; solo players should park one hero on a stable platform before changing a mirror or testing a beam.
Pause before moving a mirror. A beam may open a route for one character while leaving the other behind. Split the work, then bring both heroes to the exit.

Common questions
Why did a door close after I opened it?
Many doors rely on a continuous beam or a held switch. Recheck the full beam path and whether a mirror or button changed state.
Should I collect diamonds before solving the beam puzzle?
Usually no. Establish the powered exit route first, then collect diamonds while you know which mirrors and platforms are safe to use.
