How Fireboy & Watergirl handles website preferences, community submissions, and third-party game embeds.

Who this notice covers
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of Fireboy & Watergirl (the “Site”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information when you browse the Site, use a game action, post a comment, or submit a game report. The Site is a directory for browser-based games and does not require an account to browse or play a listed game.
If you have a privacy question or want to make a request about information associated with the Site, contact us at jinziai2025@gmail.com.
Information processed by the Site
We process only the information needed to operate the features that are available:
- Connection and security data. Our hosting provider and server may receive request data such as IP address, browser and device information, requested URLs, timestamps, and response status. We use this information to deliver the Site, diagnose errors, and protect it from abuse.
- Language preference. The
PARAGLIDE_LOCALEcookie remembers the language you select so that the next page can be shown in that language. - Game reactions, comments, and reports. When you use like, dislike, comment, or report actions, the Site creates a random
game_visitor_idcookie. The random identifier, the relevant game, your selected reaction, or the report reason and details are stored so the feature can work and be protected against repeat submissions. The visitor cookie is set for up to one year. - Browser-only favourites. Favourite game choices are stored in your browser under
favorite-games. They are not sent to our server and can be removed from your browser storage at any time. - Public comments and moderation. If you post a comment, we store the name you provide, your comment text, the game page, submission time, random visitor identifier, publication status, and any later moderation time. Automated checks can reject obvious spam or place comments containing links or potentially sensitive expressions into a review queue. Published comments are public. Do not include private, sensitive, or unnecessary personal information in a comment.
- Comment reports. If you report a comment, we store the selected reason, optional details, the reported comment and game, the random visitor identifier, submission time, and review status. Other visitors do not see who submitted a report.
To slow repeated requests, our server may temporarily use a rate-limit key derived from an IP address and a hash of the request cookie. This key is held in memory for the applicable rate-limit period and is not part of the public comment record. We also use the random visitor identifier and recent comment records to limit rapid or duplicate submissions.
Why we use this information
We use the information above to display the Site in the requested language, operate reactions, comments, reports, and favourites, maintain security, investigate misuse, respond to rights concerns, and improve the reliability of the Site. Where a law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the feature you request, our legitimate interest in running and protecting the Site, or your consent where it is required.
Third-party games, links, and services
Listed games are delivered by third-party publishers inside an iframe. When you start a game, your browser connects directly to that publisher. The publisher can apply its own terms, cookies, advertising, analytics, and data practices. We do not control those systems or the information they collect. Please review the publisher’s own privacy information before playing if you have questions about its practices.
The Site may also enable analytics, advertising, or support-chat services in the future. If one of those services is enabled, its provider may process information according to its own policy. We will update this notice when we make a material change to the categories of providers or the way we use them.
Cookies and similar storage
The Site uses the language and visitor-ID cookies described above, plus browser local storage for favourites. You can remove or block cookies in your browser settings and clear local storage through your browser controls. Doing so can reset your language choice, reactions, and favourites. Third-party game frames can set their own cookies or use similar technologies independently of this Site.
Sharing, retention, and security
We share information only as needed to run the Site, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or respond to a valid rights request. This can include our hosting, database, and service providers, as well as a game publisher when a report or rights issue requires clarification.
We keep comments, moderation records, reactions, and reports only for as long as they are reasonably needed for the feature, moderation, security, or dispute handling. Hiding a comment removes it from public display but can preserve the submission and review record. We may delete obsolete data or retain information longer where required by law. No internet service can promise absolute security, but we use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the Site.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction on the use of your personal information. You may also have a right to object to certain processing or complain to a relevant data-protection authority. To help us locate the relevant record, include the game URL, the name used for a comment, and any other non-sensitive information needed to identify your request. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
Children
The Site is not designed to collect personal information from children. Do not post personal information about yourself or anyone else in a public comment. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Site, contact us so that we can review the request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Site or applicable requirements change. The “updated” date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
