A larger elemental journey
Revisit temple challenges with new routes
Elements is a broader Fireboy and Watergirl collection that moves the duo through several temple styles. Instead of teaching one new idea for the whole game, it asks players to recognise which kind of room they have entered and adapt their teamwork to it.
That variety makes Elements a natural next step once the basic elemental rules feel comfortable. A familiar lift, portal, beam, or icy lane can return in a different arrangement, making old knowledge useful without making the route automatic.
Core mechanics: combine known systems with elemental safety
The adventure reuses a toolbox of switches, movable boxes, pulleys, balance devices, portals, and themed terrain. Their shared purpose is to create a path for two characters who cannot safely use the same hazards.
Fireboy travels through lava and collects red diamonds; Watergirl travels through water and collects blue diamonds. Green pools remain dangerous to both, so every multi-mechanic room still begins with the same question: which hero can reach the next device safely?
- Identify the temple-style mechanic before committing to a route.
- Use one solved section as a checkpoint before exploring for diamonds.
- Expect later rooms to combine more than one familiar device.
New-player strategy: reset your assumptions between areas
When the setting changes, take a few seconds to look for the mechanic that defines the new room. A fast solution from a previous temple may not work when a portal, moving platform, or slippery surface changes the timing.
Prioritise a reliable exit route over a perfect first run. Once both exits are understood, return for diamonds and shorter routes with much less risk of leaving one character behind.
Controls and co-op setup
Control Fireboy with the arrow keys and Watergirl with W, A, S, D. The two-keyboard layout works for solo play or a shared-screen pair; agree on who will hold a switch before the other player begins a long route.
The fastest route is not always the safest route. Share the screen, call out switches, and only race for diamonds after the exit route is clear.

Common questions
Is Elements a completely different game from the earlier temples?
It is built around the same co-op foundations, but its changing temple styles make it a varied collection of puzzle situations rather than one repeated environment.
What should I do when several mechanisms appear at once?
Separate the room into steps: find the exits, identify the device that opens the first route, then solve one safe section before moving on to the next.
